This free two hour lecture/demo introduces a ton of valuable information about acrylics, guiding you through the basics and opening up new possibilities.
Explore the difference between mineral and modern pigments and how this relates to clean color mixing, glazing, and the creation of fabulous new hues. Learn the unique properties of fluid & heavy body acrylics. See how Interference and Iridescent paints can produce unusual effects.
Get an understanding of the many Golden gels and mediums and how they can change the texture, saturation, and intensity of your work. Check out the amazing new grounds, including the new Digital Grounds, to prepare surfaces for painting, drawing, pastels, and mixed media. Discover how acrylics can simulate oil and watercolor, yet are infinitely more versatile.
You'll get your acrylic questions answered and take home free samples from this fast-paced, informative lecture.
INSTRUCTOR BIO:
Truly Herbert is a native Washingtonian who loves painting and sculpting and has worked in various media. She holds a degree in Fine Art from the Corcoran College of Art + Design, a BA in English with a minor in Anthropology from James Madison University, and has created work in multiple intensive programs at Penland School of Crafts. She also teaches yoga and works for National Geographic full-time.
